went Ocean Park with my family, my 2nd visit to the Ocean Park, the first was with Jess & Bel..and i realise i dont have much pics of that day..they're with jess..but ive got the videos..HURHURHUR. but anyways, went to Ocean Park last Sunday.

here, at the bottom entrance.

i manage to try feeding the seals this time!
haha! all three fishes were accurately thrown to the seal.
there's this giant sea lion at the bottom slurping all the fishes that were not thrown far/high enough to reach the seal. (:

looks like the panda wanting to scare us from the back..
but yup, went to see the pandas!

halloween~ the day & night tickets are different pricing though .
oh, and i managed to take photo with one of the...

supposedly ghostly character! haha, i think their makeups are great man.

i tried a very nice DaPaiDong today.. (its somewhere near my office @ Central)
one of the best meals ever..and this is the best lunch! (:
pheeweet. super delicious.
best thing was, it was freedy's treat! one of my companies, shy male colleague. let's see if i can find his picture..nice hor, randomly treat..joey say "Qi Xin" aka "crazy". haha, cos they wanted to pay him, then he dont want.

yeah..finally went to the long awaited Sai Kung + BBQ !
it was quite a long journey though.
like 90mins to reach the Sai Kung pier.

so..! when we reached an isolated island for bbq,
there was acty fishing activities too. as we were kinda early..
reached at like 3pm..we went to one of their floating platoons for some fishing first!

so here we are, in the middle of...the sea..??haha.

abit heart pain but its so delicious. (((:
i was craving for vegee so i tot, maybe i should just buy some salad for lunch too..
then while picking the many variety of vegees stacking up my salad box..i saw at the corner of my eye..the baked potato and pork neck that i ordered the other time which i tot was pretty delicious and i picked them up into the lunch box too.
then, i felt a pinch in my heart when i proceeded to the counter to weigh my box knowing that the potato and pig was heavy..haha, i mean pork neck..'n' i was so crossing my fingers as i saw the woman weighing my box!
omgosh..yes, its the HKD$15/100g thingy agn!

haix..there u have it..its 310g..my potato was the culprit that added on to the weight..but wells. happy lunching is all that matters. (:

the potato with the veg was the best combi ever,
which i apparently gobbled up in just a few mouths.

initially, wanted to go somewhere else for lunch,
but this super nicely decor-ed eating house lured us in..
(i forgot to take a picture of their cakes! - expensive but looks very delicious)
most probably will be going there again soon! to try their other range of food..and most importantly..their CAKESSS!!! (tmr perhaps..?haha)

nice uh? very new york take away style.

behind me are their baked selection. pizzas, meatballs, etc.

the clan who was there: angela, myself, jon & joey.
that's jon & me..the manager there very kindly offered to help us take a picture together. after that he even asked for our feedback on this place & the whole ordering procedure at the shop.
its newly opened by the way. (:
i'm eating & blogging now..hurhurs.
feedie disappeared halfway..(haha, one of our colleagues..so funny..
joey was like, i think i dont see feedie..LOL.)

the lunch box there is a self-serviced range of food then you can choose from, and the price was $15/100g! so cheat money loh. just that box weighed 576g.
then we ordered pizzas on top of that too. but i will upload the pic of the pepperoni pizza soon!
for the one that im holding too, it has the ingredients of pepperoni too, but its a lot more delicious and juicy..not sure what is it called though. pizzas too i guess.
p.s jacinta, this was the type of pizza we attempted to make from the leftover pizza skins on our pizza-making-attempt!i think we called it coropoke!LOL.

by 5-6am the typhoon signal shld go down to 3 already..
unless somehow till 8am its still signal 8 then can report to work at 10am loh..all working people are given 2hours to report to work from the time the typhoon signal 8 is pulled down.. (:

Quite some time ago, there was an ad-war between a couple of vehicle brands. Well, as civilized brands, they bought civilized-ly of course..

Well, the war was between BMW, AUDI, SUBARU and BENTLEY.
Curious on how they fought..?
Well..with ads of course..!

BMW started the whole thing, with quite a provocative message.

AUDI answered BMWs ad.

For some reason, SUBARU wanted to join the battle.

okie, besides the washing of clothes not being easy..
and worse still if there's no washing machine..
there's another factor too - transportation .
the traveling time here is an hour and more for me .
whether to work or to go out .
also, the cost for transportation is kinda expensive here .

if only counting the weekdays ..
transportation is a rough estimate of S$10 a day ..
so yeah, i think i begin to appreciate not only Singapore's transportation more but Singapore itself much more..cos going to school only takes me 15 minutes of walking. haha.
so..even as Singapore raises their bus fare (which i think they already did again recently..) i'm not gonnna complain..haha..then a few mnths down the road you will hear me complaining again..tsktsk.

ah! how can i forget about food..
yes, although you won't starve here..
and you may or may not be sick of outside food..
but at times you just hope that when you reach you have food on the table cooked by your mom waiting for you to eat it..haha. (:
so yeah, that's another thing about being overseas alone..

but of course, i wont deny that there's alot to learn while you are overseas alone..you'll definitely be a more independent and stronger person after this..(:

Uh, and the tiredness at the end of the day after work..wah piang, super tired loh.
sometimes at night rite, after work you just feel like going home to sleep & skipping dinner.
you're just so super tired..but at times when you're home, the energy in you just comes back..lol..

then again, this makes me appreciate Singapore much more, cos after work/school i still have the energy to hang out! haha. (:

3 months of internship, maybe in the beginning, you will feel that its super long, but if everything is going well for you, you will feel that its okay..OH,also rite..it takes awhile to adapt to the working life..(really- be it how things work, or how things are done in the industry..take it as an important lesson learnt before graduating and moving into the working society ba..)be it local or overseas, it might be harder overseas la, hard to say..depends on individual..but why i feel its harder cos you dont have your usual friends and family to meet every night, and you dont have your home & lovely bed to be greeted by at the end of the day when you're home after work..Hmmm, Yup!

tsk, for those who didnt know..
recently, Aili helped me to bring back a luggage..(the hugest) haha. if there's such a word..yes, my biggest luggage that i brought over to hong kong..
okay, that's not the main point ya..

when the luggage got home, my family went to explore my shopping's harvest from Hong Kong..and my brother saw 3 shirts inside..besides the ones i bought for him..and he ask my mom to ask me if he can take one since i got 3 of the same design what..right? then i say huh..siao, i didnt buy 3 shirts of the same design ah..where got ppl buy 3 of the same kind de..then my brother tried to described it to my mom..but through skype i also can hear mah..he was at the luggage, my mom was at the computer chatting with me..

so in the midst of his detailed describing..i laughed..
haha..its the Euphoria Shirts lah! i packed it back cos i got too many shirts le..
then i told my mom, i didnt buy them in hong kong, its my camp's shirt..
then i told her to look behind, it says "Euphoria Camp 2008".
and i generously say take loh..haha..

wah piang i tell you ah..super pain..
i do admit i do not have the healthiest body..
seeing that when massaging my foot, it acty hurts..
BUT PAIN LEH..
you know, when massaging my foot rite, even my intestines also pain eh..like can feel a few jerks in my body..like quite scary..tsktsk..
they also massaged our shoulders..
but when massaging the shoulders rite, i think its not hard enough la..
the painful part is when she pressed below my armpit..
ouch la..OUCCHHH!!
i dunno why she press there lah, to relax my muscles or smth..
but now..i'm feeling the pain of ytd..haix..
but its quite cheap lah..

In a few more days, it marks the end of 2mnths of internship already.
I guess it hasnt been an easy period of time, but definitely have grown to be even more independent. If anyone is going to ask me whether OSIP is fun, well..its not fun. But of course, its a whole new exposure to the world. Something that not everyone will be able to experience and be exposed to.

I guess it not only allows you to see things differently, you begin to appreciate things. Things that you might have taken granted of, or even not see how much it means to be close (distance wise) to your family & friends.

For those who think washing your own clothes is easy..
THINK TWICE!
its not as easy as you think. if you dont have a washing machine..
HURHURHUR..i think life is even so much harder..
you gotta wash your clothes daily, if there's not enough space to let your clothes dry..
*added* even if you got enough space to let your clothes dry, you dont have enough pails to wash all of your clothes at one go..rite..!?!

The only thing about Hong Kong is language barrier if you do not know cantonese. It makes it even worse if your chinese sucks. (not language wise, but written!) haha. somemore its fan ti here not qian ti! Therefore, its quite hard to read the menu lah. It also takes awhile to adapt to their culture and the fast-pacing busy society & working crowd.

You dont really have to worry that you would starve, b'cos the people here eat alot..haha. Their portion of rice by default is at least two-three times the portion in sg. (: This is when you hafta ask for "Siu Fan" (less rice) or "Siu Min" (less noodles).

finally feel that i have visited hong kong la!tsktsk.

i tell you, it was super funny when we were at disneyland..tsktsk.
as design people, things we see we were like "after effects", "istock photo", "the picture is keyed in lah!so fake.." lol..so fun..

smelly smelly toufu ! wahaha. i was super scared at first..
cos i always thought smelly toufu was black de..
but acty black smelly toufu originated from china! not hong kong.
haha, & hong kong's smelly toufu is the same colour as our normal toufu,just that it tastes so much more delicious..
and acty, the smell only comes from the deep frying of the toufu..
yup, the toufu itself is alrite in smell..

heehee..my favourite squid with masturd wasabi..

eh..my new discovery..taiwanese street snack!
woohoos. u get to choose the noodle you want,
and the ingredient you would like to go with it..
each ingredient is HKD$2.50..all are served chilled..
i think its quite delicious lah..cheap and nice..
i chose baby octopus and clams as my ingredients to go with the noodles..
and they acty have some special concoction of the sauces together to make the ultimate noodles taste so yummy. (((:

went to mong kok after work today..
bought 4 super cool shirts..hurhur~
shoppin' shoppin' shoppin' ..
then the 4 of us took taxi back from mong kok eh!
guess how much was the fare..?

but before we board there was an agreement on a 30% discount already.

week 5's adventure: The Peak !

ytd, went to the peak after work. wah, i tell you..never take the bus up to the peak again..NEVER. haix..
so giddy lah! worse than genting..*pukes*
motion sickness like anything..take the tram!
tram okie! haha, which we did loh, only on the way down..lol..
the bus takes 40mins to reach the peak from Central, Hong Kong Station @ IFC1 building LEH!haha & the tram although you have to queue, takes only 10-15mins..
but there's a huge crowd lah.. show you.

haha, but dont worry lah the queue clears quite fast..like 15mins only~
and the ride is about 10-15mins..super fast rite..so take tram k!
TRAMMMMMM..lol..i'm just super sick of the bus ride lah.urgh~
made me have not much appetite for dinner. yucks.

hmm, yeah & The Peak has very nice views, but you gotta pay to go all the way to the highest level of the tower.
haha, not too ex lah HKD$20 loh. but i didnt pay lah..
cos we were upstairs already but the tickets are only available at the first floor.
lazy to go all the way down and up again lohs.
so i just went outside to take some pictures..heehee. windy and nice.
i think it was the 2nd highest floor of the mall. (:
you'd have a much nicer & clearer view if you pay for the admission ticket to go to the highest level loh.

just now during lunch, i tried the duck tongue!!!!
oh my gosh. not sure if i'm daring or curious..
i actually tried it! that's the duck tongue on the left, with my chop sticks..
i think its just mental phobia..if i dont know that its the duck tongue i would have just ate happily loh..alex offered me..say try..then i ask what's that..he say, you try lah..
then after careful thought and de-assembling of what i am about to eat..
i was like "duck tongue uh?".. and he grinned!

ate spaghetti house last week (:
lobster, lobster, i love dem .
lobster bisque & lobster spagetti (: woohoos ~
and spinach baked prawn risotto . yummy!!!

tadah..my 4th weekend in hong kong !
had dim sum for lunch @ mega box mall .
it was a huge restaurant. (jiu lou)
super delicious mini egg tarts. had hot choc before iceskating (while watching the little kids have their friendly ice hockey match.)
they were very cute..some were as young as 5 or 6 years old..
and once they come on the ice they actually fell..haha..super funny..
and many of them keep falling during the game..
but some kids played really well..scoring and being the goalie..cool game! (:

yup, so i went ice skating today..with my new H&M jacket..
nice not..? i fell down once leh..got one super big blue-black..
and i hurt my thumb..so i decided to buy gloves..tsktsk.
had dessert after ice-skating..with ice choc float .

it was quite fun la~their skates were quite new..
some funny things happened in the ring..super cute incidents..lol..
their skates are better than singapore's lah..and its only HKD$65 for 2 & a 1/2 hours of skating..

yeah .. almost a month down !
anyways, the news said another typhoon is coming~
but this time either sat/sun..which is on the weekends lah..
hope it comes on monday though .. then i got another 4 day week..

maybe i should update my blog's banner more frequently so i can archive my banners like weekly or fortnightly..or if i'm kinda busy with shopping and all..monthly..??tsktsk.

Okie . i'm gonna start off by blogging in weeks okie!

the six of us who made it for OSIP !

i was very excited the whole period of time before flying to hong kong for my overseas internship. kept thinking to myself that i will be enjoying myself so much more then internship-ing in s'pore . tsktsk.

on 26 July 08 (sat), we touched down in hong kong at 2.45pm .
my church friend's sister Aili offered to pick us up from the airport .
and she did! haha, i have never met her before .. so i was kinda excited to meet her and was thinking how we would be acknowledging each other kinda thing .

when we first touched down..we bought two bottles of the all new mango duty free vodka .
one for Aili and one for ourselves . cos we cldnt get any paste items (hand carry) on the flight when we were at s'pore's departure hall .
so all that hong kong's arrival hall had was alcohol and cigarettes . (:

i wanted to pick up some cantonese on the plane before we actually landed in hong kong after a hong kong movie "run daddy run" . not sure how its phrase in english . but if you read it in chinese, its correct . haha .

budden . left with hardly an hour on the plane, the SIA crew acty made an announcement that we cant do anything on the entertainment screen . and all the air stewards went ard collecting back our earpieces . urgh man . so irritating . it was only 2pm den and we had another 45mins before we touch down lor .

okie, so didnt really manage to master the language .
and as we were clearing the customs, angela got stopped and they has to run the system to check her data. lol.. they say its random check , and its normal .
but to acty be checked, the feeling is kinda scary.. :X

shiok lah , this is the life man . had dim sum for lunch last friday .
i think i should keep up this diet man . love the dim sum in hong kong .. muacks muacks.
and acty , my diet in hongkong is quite healthy leh.. u knw why?

sorry , i dunno how to read the name of this restaurants..
but my colleage joey says it has been around for 80 years .
along this area, called SOHO, its one of the most traditional places for dim sum yummy yum .
haha. love it.. (:

so its so traditional u have to walk up the stairs..
once u come in, there's a counter selling pastries..

so once u come up, as u can see..its packed with peee~ople~

the whole restaurant can sit up to 100-150 people at any time .
yes..its that big..and again, its so traditional..u have to share seats with people..haha.
oh well, that's hongkong for you. (:

cos its so traditional~ we waited for 15mins for seats..
and its lunch time!!! you know how precious lunch times are..
(those who r working..let's nod in agreement~lol.)

see..love it. u have to go to the auntie see what dim sum she has and give her ur bill, where she will chop the paper, that will indicate how much u have to pay for the dimsum..
they got S,M,L column one.. each size is different prices.

more dim sum..their glutinous rice is hao chi de .
i liked that the most .

still got other food . haha, but no time to blog le ..
had a wonderful 2 hour steamboat ytd with Aili, her bf & ane .
shiok lah . wah . its at a restaurant.. we ate after 8.30pm, which was cheaper..heehee.we ordered so much food. i'll try to post it tmr if i have the time.
per pax S$20 only leh . its HKD$100 . acty less than $20 slightly by abt $2 .
whoooo~ i'm lovin' it .

i still owe my school a blog . haha .
